we need to slow down a little I’m so serious. all these quick short videos on tiktok, ig reels, and youtube, artists releasing quick little songs for the trend, tv shows releasing episodes at once, people using chat gpt and google ai overview because they get answers quickly but no validation done for the source, we need to sloww downn i really do not think our brains should be running this fast
I had a lucid dream about you holding me as I slept and I sortf knew it wasn’t real. I knew you were gone and I tried to move your arms but it just stayed there, hold me. I pushed and shoved and slowly started to give up. Slowly started to feel at ease. Feel the realness of your warmth. And then it all disappears. And I’m alone. Again.

This is only the beginning. Our country has not only entered a new decade, it seems a new dawning era as well, because this flaming apocalypse doesn’t show any sign of stopping any time soon.
And you know what saddens me? I’ve never seen Australian tragedies trending here on this website. I mean it’s been going on for months and only now does it seem to really be getting recognized, even if it is only at #9.
And I’m going to be honest with you here - the internet, and media in general is so American centric, this website being no exception. You’d think that an entire continent being on fire for several months with devastating consequences would have more recognition, but no, it really doesn’t. The most notes I’ve ever seen on a post about the Australian fires is at least a few thousand, and that’s about it.
So just… please. If you can, with this post or any other post in regards to the fires going on down here, reblog. Because the only thing that should be spreading like wildfire, is a post about a burning country…
My friend saw the Joker and said, “…Also, the message of ‘Be nice to people and they won’t shoot you’ is not my fav.” I am sorry but I disagree with this. The message of the movie is way more, way deeper than ‘just be nice to people’. It was more along the lines of getting these ill people the help they need, really listen to them, and legitimatizing their experiences, and you could lessen these situations. People weren’t nice to Arthur sure but he is dealing with a psychiatrist who isn’t listening to him, him wanting more meds, a ‘society’ that could care less about him, just complete hopelessness. Then on top of that, the government cuts funding for mental health.
Part of the reason I love the Murray Show scene so much is that it is basically Arthur and the psychiatrist all over again with higher stakes. Arthur in his monologue spells out it, how all these factors of mental health, being a loner, the society he is living outcasting him pushed him to become who he is. Murray isn’t listening, Murray is trying to talk down to him, twisting his answers, saying it was all a bunch of self-pity as Arthur is literally trying to explain himself. Once again he is being ignored and being told that his experiences and feelings don’t matter.
So I say again, the movie is way more than ‘just be nice to people’. To me, the message is about being lost in the world and finally being recognized and validated.
